Precautions to be taken when wearing colored contact lenses for the first time

1.Colored contact lenses are packaged in bottles and boxes,whatever the packaging is,after opening, the lenses should be soaked in a care solution first.

2. Remove the lenses from the package, check whether the lenses are wet, clean, clear, no dents and tears; if the lenses are damaged, do not use!

Distinguish between positive and negative

There are front side and reverse side of contact lenses!!!! First of all, there is a difference in the color of the front and reverse, wearing the lenses by the reverse side will not only have a foreign body sensation, there also be slippery phenomenon.

Looking from the left side or the right side, the front side of a contact lens like a rounded bowl shape, the edge of the lens is facing upwards, if you look from left side of the reverse side ,the edge is almost horizontal, it would be more like a plate.

Wearing method

1 .After washing your hands, you should first make sure that there is no abnormality in the lenses, observe the front and reverse side of the lenses, and then you can wear color contact lenses after confirming that there is nothing wrong.

2 .In distinguishing colored contact lenses, the two lenses are the same, it’s hard to tell the difference of degree, Before wearing, you can use tweezers to clip the lens to watch, if you see through the lens, the image is too clear, this lens might belong to another eye.

3 .Put the contact lens on the tip of your right index finger, look at the front of the lens and gently open the upper eyelid with the middle finger of your left hand, and then gently open the lower eyelid with the hand holding the lens, and then gently put the lens in the center of your eye when your eyeballs are wide open. When the lens touches the eyeball, look down and release your hand at the same time, so that the lens can be correctly placed.

4 .When distinguishing color contact lenses, because color contact lens lenses are the same, the difference in degree can not be seen, so before wearing, you can use tweezers to hold the lens in front of your eyes, if you can see through the lens too clearly, it may be the lens of your other glasses.

5 .If you need to wear makeup while wearing colored contact lenses, you need to put on your colored contact lenses before applying makeup. When removing makeup, remove colored contact lenses before removing makeup.

Note: Every time you handle colored contact lenses you need to lay a clean tissue flat on the table. If the lenses fall off, you can pick them up from the tissue and rinse them before wearing them. If the lens falls on the floor, it must be rinsed and disinfected again before wearing, and your hands must be cleaned before touching the lens.

Removal method

1 .After washing your hands, gently clip the lens with tweezers and place it on suction rod(or your finger) . Look at the bowl of the lens and check that the edge is not curved outwards. If it is, it means it is inside out

2 .Open the upper and lower eyelids with 2 fingers. Don’t be nervous, take a deep breath.

3 .Place the lens on the lower eyelid in the center of the eye and gently push it upwards onto the eye. When the lens touches the eyeball, release your hand while looking down. Special case: When you can’t wear the contact lenses by suction rod, try wearing it by hand ,be sure to clean your hand first.

4 . Once the lenses are in place, rotate and blink your eyes to make the lenses fit better.

5 .To remove the lenses, use 2 fingers to support the upper and lower eyelids and remove them downward.Tilt it 45 degrees and gently clip out the contact lenses along the bottom of the them.

Color contact lens wearing time

1.If it is your first time to wear contact lenses, you should take gradual process, by extending the number of hours of lens wear day by day, so that both eyes can slowly get used to the contact lenses.

2.In order to avoid the sudden increase in the burden on the eyes, the appropriate wearing time for first-time wearers is: 2 hours on the first day, 4 hours on the second day, 6 hours on the third day, 8 hours and in the fifth day you eyes might get accustomed to the lenses. The optimal wearing time is 6—8 hours per day.

3.The yearly disposal lenses is counted from the date, on which you open and start to use the lenses, the use period should not be more than 1 year. 10 months is the best.

Cleaning and Care of Color Contact Lenses

1. Color contact lenses need to be carefully cleaned every 2 days, wash your hands with soap, pour care solution in the palm of your hand, put the lenses on, massage the front and back sides with your index finger 15 times each. After the massage, use the clip to hold the lens, use the clean care solution, rotate the lens front and back and rinse it off.

2. Put the color contact lenses inside the box to soak, the care solution must submerge the lenses, not less than 6 hours a day.

Be careful not to run the lid of the box over the lenses to avoid breakage. If you have no demands to wear them, please remember to change the care solution for every 2 days.

3. If you expect to use them the next day, change the care solution once the night before. Or wash them again before use.

All these small steps can make you feel more comfortable wearing them! And don’t wear colored contact lenses overnight. Wearing lenses overnight will leave the cornea in an anaerobic state.

4. The care solution must be renewed daily. Be careful not to run over the lenses by tightening the lid of the eyeglass case.

5. Please take off your lenses in a dusty and polluted environment. Once dust and other foreign objects enter the eye, the lens will irritate the cornea through friction, causing eye pain and bacterial infection.

6. Do not use eye drops while wearing colored contact lenses. If you feel uncomfortable, then you should seek medical advice promptly.

Symptoms and solutions that may occur when wearing contact lenses for the first time

1.mild foreign body sensation: but no pain and no other abnormalities. It may be that the wearer is not yet comfortable with the edge of the lens. You can continue to wear them and the symptoms should disappear soon.

Mild eye dryness: the tear film of the eye is affected by the presence of the lens. The daily wearing time can be gradually extended (e.g., wear the lenses for 4 hours on the first day, 6 hours on the second day, and so on).

2.mild eye congestion; but no other discomfort, may be a normal reaction, that means your conjunctiva is in the process of initial adaptation to the contact lens , after a few days it should disappear.

3.sometimes blurred vision: the first time you wear contact eyes lens, due to the number of involuntary blinking is reduced, can cause tear film instability, resulting in unstable vision, is a normal phenomenon. It is recommended to maintain a normal number of blinks during the wearing process. Vision can usually be gradually stabilized after a short period of acclimatization.

Solution about uncomfortable feeling when wearing the lenses
